Ostley House is a large Victorian house, built around 1900 situated in its own grounds on the outskirts of Barrow.
Extensive modernisation has been carried out to the original three storey building, with wing extensions ensuring first-class comfort for the resident. All bedrooms now have en suite facilities.
The Abbey Wing was opened in January 1990 by Viscount Whitelaw and contains seven single bedrooms, a purpose designed bathroom with a Medic bath, and a large lounge with television and modern sound system.
The Croasdell Wing was opened by Her Royal Highness, the Duchess of Kent, in March 1995 and contains eight single bedrooms and The Harriett Tyson Wing was opened in April 1998 and contains seven bedrooms.
